The Convention Industry Council invited me to design the event materials and invitations for the Hall of Leaders celebration for the second year in a row. Our 2015 design was part of a collective revamp in marketing collateral, which strayed from the overly formal and standard look of the CIC, introducing an exciting, dynamic new look for both the CIC and their industry events. The new look of the CIC's event and marketing collateral is brighter, more modern, and always reflective of the event itself, which overall better resonates with the meetings and events industry.
Events industry leaders and planners took notice — the fresh look received many compliments and was one of the factors that helped boost event registration and attract new members to the CIC's industry programs and certifications.
After experiencing first hand the power of a new design perspective, they were eager to deliver a 2016 Hall of Leaders celebration that proved the CIC would continue on this dynamic path.
The 2016 design featured a square shaped invitation and envelope, gold foil pressed accents and rich jewel tones.
I interviewed a variety of print vendors (online and locally) to find the best quality and price for both the square shape and gold foil accents.
Once the print budget was approved, I worked with both the CIC stakeholders and the selected printer to ensure both design, content and print production needs were met.
The gold envelopes were ordered from an online vendor. I also worked with a local mail house to handle the address printing and direct mailing for 1000 invitations.
